E>GO Rearview Cameras Multimedia specialist ZENEC is expanding its accessories range by over 20 car-specific rear view cameras that are perfectly suited for the major European vehicles. The cameras replace the factory license plate lighting unit, and can be fitted in just a few minutes. Fitting could not be easier – no damaging sawing or drilling: simply remove the license plate light unit, install camera, run cable forward to the moniceiver or naviceiver – finished! The vehicle retains its original appearance, the installation being as inconspicuous as possible. It certainly could not be faster or easier to retrofit multimedia systems or monitor navigators with a rear view camera.
ZENECs new car-specific cameras can be connected to all moniceivers, naviceivers and monitors that have a rear view camera input. These fully integrated in-vehicle cameras deliver a sharp, high resolution image, even under critical light conditions, and therefore provide a perfect view of all obstructions to the rear of the vehicle at all times. As soon as reverse gear is engaged, the camera switches on and transmits images of the situation at the rear of the car to the moniceiver or naviceiver display. This is an enormous help when parking or for vehicles with a restricted rear view. ZENEC uses only the very best components for its cameras: for example, a very high quality MPEG board, which guarantees outstanding signal processing – fast and color noise-free in dim environments.
Beside the signal processing, it is the image sensor itself that determines the image quality of a camera. The new Zenec cameras use CMOS sensors as they have less noise than CCD sensors in poor light. On top of that is the significantly higher working temperature range of CMOS technology, which is why it generally has the edge in the automotive sector. The CMOS sensor from Sharp used by Zenec ensures sharp images and also works perfectly trouble-free at very a very frosty -20° C.
With their very high photosensitivity of 0.3 Lux, the new Zenec cameras enable an optimal view at all times, even under poor light conditions or at night. Together with the high resolution, a signal-to-noise ratio > 48 dB and a wide horizontal viewing angle of 170°, you can always be sure of an excellent view of the immediate vicinity to the rear of the vehicle.
