Navigation function of the ZENEC sat nav is sometimes erroneous, for example at crossings or a traffic circle.

Answer: Please consider that ZENEC deploys digital map data of the market leader TELE Atlas. With full EU content and routing and signalization of streets being modified on a daily bases, it can easily happen that certain parts of digitalized map data are wrong or not fully up to date. Please contact the support section of TELEATLAS directly, using the provided link – because such issues should ideally be reported by the end user that has stumbled over it (first hand info):

My iPod/iPhone gets charged, but is not accessible as a replay source.

Answer: Just make sure that your ZENEC device as well as your iPod/iPhone, have the latest software update installed. Non-fitting or non up-to-date software versions can cause a variety of problems and malfunctions.

Apart from that, we can only guarantee a trouble free functionality if you use the recommended original ZENEC iPod/iPhone connection cable.

If you are sure that the latest software is installed (using the original ZENEC iPod cable) and the problem still persists, then disconnect and reset your iPod/iPhone. Consult your iPod/iPhone manual on how to reset your device.

After updating to iOS4, my iPhone/iPod doesn't work. What can I do?

  1. Turn on your ZENEC device, make sure the iPod or iPhone is not connected or unplug it.
  2. Switch off your iPod or iPhone. Turning off these APPLE devices requires you to press both HOME and POWER buttons for approx. 5 seconds. A red button will appear on the touch screen. Slide the red button to the right side to power off your device.
  3. Re-connect the iPod or iPhone to your ZENEC device.
  4. The iPod or iPhone should automatically turn on. If this is not the case, press the POWER button for 2 seconds to manually power on.
  5. After the iPod or iPhone has been initialized following the instructions above, the switch on sequence of your APPLE device reverts back to its initial status (as before the iOS4 update).

After usage of the external microphone, I changed back to the internal microphone. But the volume is low and the speech intelligibility is bad.

Out of the box, the internal microphone is activated. If you want to use the external microphone, remove the violet connector with the wire bridge, activate the external microphone in the Bluetooth setup and add the violet connector with the external microphone instead of the wire bridge. If you want to use the internal microphone again, add the wire bridge instead the connector with the external microphone and activate the internal microphone in the
Bluetooth setup again. You will find a detailed description of the Bluetooth mode
in the main manual.

Reboot of the E>GO naviceiver during or right after engine start.

Answer: A reboot of the ZENEC naviceiver at or right after the engine start points to an under voltage problem of your vehicle. The restart/reboot process is caused by an internal protection mechanism (micro controller watchdog) of the E>GO unit against under voltage conditions in the vehicle, that would cause consequential malfunctions of the E>GO’s sat nav or radio section. Root cause for this behavior is the vehicles electrical on-board system itself or parts of it, not being able to hold the in-car voltage above 9V at start of engine.

Please contact your car service center for further assistance, to let them check the battery, alternator or main wire harness.
