After updating to iOS4, my iPhone/iPod doesn't work. What can I do?

Answer:

  1. Turn on your ZENEC device, make sure the iPod/iPhone is not connected or unplug it.
  2. Switch off your iPod/iPhone. Turning off these APPLE devices requires you to press both HOME and POWER buttons for approx. 5 seconds. A red button will appear on the touch screen. Slide the red button to the right side to power off your device.
  3. Re-connect the iPod/iPhone to your ZENEC device.
  4. The iPod/iPhone should automatically turn on. If this is not the case, press the POWER button for 2 seconds to manually power on.
  5. After the iPod/iPhone has been initialized following the instructions above, the switch on sequence of your APPLE device reverts back to its initial status (as before the iOS4 update).

Can I watch a movie during driving?

Answer: According to the law in several European countries, driving with monitors in use in the viewing range of the driver is not allowed, because the driver will be distracted from the traffic. Please respect the traffic regulations of your country, or you might face penalties in case of an accident.  Please pay attention to the volume inside your vehicle, because you have to notice exterior sounds like a police siren.

Where can I get replacement parts such as remote controls, mounting frames, or connecting cables?

Answer: Please consult your nearest authorized ACR dealer. Find them marked on the following map: http://dealers.acr.ch/

The device has trouble to properly recognize some CDs/DVDs. It just takes very long and does not work reliably anymore.

Answer: As there is quite a bit of dust inside a car, it is usually a good idea to clean the drive from time to time. This can be done with a usual cleaning CD. If that does not work anymore, it is most likely that the drive is worn and has to be replaced. Please, consult an authorized ACR dealer. ZENEC grants a 24 month warranty on the laser unit.

Answer: Actually, you can use any receiver featuring a standard RCA video out connector. However, touchscreen control requires the specialised interfaces of ZE-DVB2000 or ZE-DVBT50 units.

What should I consider playing USB media?

Answer: The USB connector is on the back of the device. It can be rerouted to the dash board or glove compartment by using the included Media Link Box. The USB data carrier should be FAT32 formatted. It should not need more than 400 mA, if no external power is present. We recommend 6.35 cm (2.5 inch) or preferably 4.6 cm (1.8 inch) harddisks. The smaller harddisks need less power and are mechanically more durable.

Content on USB / SD data carrier is not recognized even after successful formatting?

It may happen that the file system of the disk got damaged, or that the file allocation table of a data carrier is defect due to erroneous write cycles. There may be different reason for this to happen, such as usage or storage of data carriers and problems occurring at the initial format process.

In such cases, you must format the data carrier once more to get it to work as intended.

Windows Vista and Win7 offer two options, i.e. you can apply a quick format or a full format of carrier. For all cases related to data carriers that seem to cause problems, it is highly suggested to do a full format process. Make sure the check mark for quick format is not set. Also pay attention that the FAT32 file system is selected before you start the format process.

Info: If the disc after formatting is still not recognized by the device, it may be due to an incompatibility of the disk controller chip itself. In such a case, you should use a different data carrier of another brand or manufacturer.
