How does the Z-N976 integrate OE steering wheel control buttons of my vehicle?

AW: The Z-N976 provides options to integrate steering wheel control buttons.

  1. Resistive: That is, if it is an analog/resistor-based steering wheel remote control.

The Z-N976 has a direct analog interface, which supports compatible vehicles without any further measures. I.e. the steering wheel buttons run directly „out-of-the-box“. However, you can reprogram the teachable buttons to your own needs in teach mode. Follow the instructions for programming the buttons in the operating instructions on p.7. Alternatively, a multifunction steering wheel can be connected to the device via a separately available vehicle-specific SWC interface, which is connected via IR-In input.

  1. CAN Bus: I.e. if your vehicle is equipped with a CAN based steering wheel remote control, it can also be connected to the Z-N976.

The Z-N976 has an IR-In input for the connection of separately available external vehicle specific CAN and/or stalk interfaces.  A suitable vehicle-specific interface and a connection cable to the device are required depending on the vehicle make, model and year of manufacture. These items can be purchased separately via accessory suppliers.
